The police were called to the single-vehicle accident at 8:25 a.m. Friday. The car the man was traveling in had crashed into the median strip of the road.
The man was taken to hospital by ambulance and later that evening the police announced that he had died.
The car has been seized for a technical examination and the incident is being investigated as negligent driving.
