A man in his 72-year-old age died after being given the wrong antibiotics on a ward in Region Dalarna.
The man had suffered a serious side effect of antibiotics four years earlier but it had never been recorded in his medical journal, the region writes in a press release.
When the man sought care again, he was given the same antibiotics. The patient's condition deteriorated quickly and despite treatment, the man died as a result of blood poisoning.
Region Dalarna has made a lex Maria report of the incident.
