A man was found injured outside a truck at a sawmill in Vimmerby on Thursday. He was taken to hospital by ambulance, where he later died.
The police have been on site at the truck to question witnesses and the incident is being investigated as a workplace accident.
A report of manslaughter has been filed, but no one has been suspected of a crime.
The man's relatives have been informed.
