The man is detained by Västmanland District Court on probable grounds suspected of murder, attempted murder and three cases of gross child abuse.
The man is still receiving care for serious injuries at the hospital and did not attend the detention hearing himself.
It was on Friday morning that a woman was murdered in Skultuna and another woman was subjected to an attempted murder in Rönnby in Västerås.
The women have, or have had, a relationship with the suspected man. All parties involved are in their 40s.

The man is also suspected of gross child abuse since three children were present at the attempted murder in Rönnby.
