A person has been detained, suspected of murder after an attack on another man in Gothenburg last week, reports Göteborgs-Posten.
The incident occurred on Friday when the man, who was in his 25s, according to the newspaper, picked up medicines at an address in the Olskroken district. He is said to have been assaulted shortly afterwards by another person with a sharp object.
The man was taken to hospital but died a few days later. He came from a smaller town in western Sweden and was, according to the police, on a temporary visit to Gothenburg. He was not previously known to the police.
The police's perception is that it is likely a case of an unprovoked attack.
He was found on the street. It was people who noticed some kind of fight and that a person collapsed on the street and raised the alarm. But we do not know why this happened, said the investigation leader Göran Sundström to TT on Tuesday.
