A man has been detained, suspected of serious data intrusion and attempted extortion after the hacker attack against the alarm company Verisure last week, reports P4 Östergötland.

Another man who was also requested to be detained has been released on a decision by the district court.

Deputy prosecutor Sandra Helgadottir states to the radio that the released man is still suspected of a crime. Both men deny.

The detention negotiations took place in the Göteborg district court on Thursday.

Verisure has previously announced that the subsidiary Alert Alarm has been affected by a data breach. Information such as names, addresses, email addresses and personal identity numbers for approximately 35,000 current and former customers is reported to have been leaked.
