In his threats, the man described how he would proceed and since he is well-known to the police and has previously had access to weapons, the threats were considered serious. In connection with the arrest, the police officers were shot at.

The man was later detained and his apartment is blocked off and guarded, the police write on their website. The National Bomb Protection Unit has been on site to investigate an object that later turned out to be harmless.

Neither the suspected perpetrator nor any police officer was injured and there should not have been any danger to outsiders, the police write on their website.

On Friday, the man was remanded in custody on probable cause suspected of attempted murder, serious weapons offense and serious threats against a public official, according to SVT News Jämtland.
