A man was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Västerås on Monday evening. According to witnesses, the man was deliberately run over while standing at a bus stop.
We received several calls at 23.07 about the man being hit by a car on Pettersbergsgatan in Västerås and it appears to have been done intentionally, says Magnus Jansson Klarin, press spokesperson for the Police Region Mitt.
The man was taken to hospital with severe injuries by ambulance and the police have launched an investigation into attempted murder.
At present, we have no one in custody, says Magnus Jansson Klarin.
The police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a dark, smaller car that likely sustained damage in the accident.
