The man, who according to SVT is linked to a criminal network in Stockholm, was wanted for five years before he was arrested last winter.
In addition to instigating an attempted murder, the man has been convicted of aggravated drug trafficking and conspiracy to commit aggravated drug trafficking, Södertörn District Court announced.
The gang leader who was the subject of the murder plans was later sentenced to life imprisonment for the high-profile murder of twelve-year-old Adriana in Norsborg, south of Stockholm, in August 2020. Several gang members have previously been convicted for criminal plans targeting the gang leader.
