A total of seven people were beaten inside and outside the hostel in May last year, and a man in his 40s later died of his injuries. The defendant has been sentenced to forensic psychiatric care.
He was also convicted of assault on previous occasions. In addition to murder, he was convicted of two counts of aggravated assault and six counts of assault.
