A 49-year-old man is sentenced for attempted murder and serious threats against a public official after he fired several shots at five police officers in March this year, announces Blekinge district court. The sentence will be 16 years in prison.
The attempted murders took place outside Karlshamn, when the police were to pick up the man for questioning because he was suspected of having placed explosive goods under a car outside Örebro in 2023. The man is therefore also sentenced for endangering the public and serious crime against the law on flammable and explosive goods.
The convicted man was himself injured by police shots during the incident.
He committed the crimes while he was conditionally released. The district court is now revoking the conditional release, which means that he will get a total of 26 years in prison.
