In addition, four other men are being prosecuted for a variety of crimes, including human trafficking and aggravated robbery.
There have been several serious crimes against particularly vulnerable individuals, committed by extremely ruthless perpetrators. This is about brutal violence and a lot of money, says investigator Christine Hofgren to GP.
The murder victim, a 45-year-old man, is suspected of having been held captive in an apartment on Hisingen in Gothenburg and being drugged while the kidnappers withdrew money from his accounts.
He managed to raise the alarm after a few days, but was dead when the police entered the apartment.
The defendants are also suspected of breaking into people's homes in the Gothenburg area to get their hands on money. On one occasion, they got away with around 1.2 million kronor.
