A 31-year-old man has been charged with murdering a 75-year-old man in Borlänge.
The man was found dead near his home in May this year. The 31-year-old was arrested the same day and has been in custody ever since.
"The victim and the defendant did not know each other. There is also nothing in the investigation to indicate that they had any contact with each other previously," says Public Prosecutor Eva-Lena Jansson, who is leading the preliminary investigation, in a press release.
The evidence includes footage from the scene, technical examinations and witness interviews. The 31-year-old admits that he was at the crime scene but denies murder.
