On the evening of December 10, a seriously injured man was found near a bus stop in a town outside Nässjö. A few hours later it was announced that the man had died from his injuries.
The suspected perpetrator was arrested shortly after the incident and has been in custody since. According to the indictment, he denies murder but has admitted to particularly serious assault and to causing the death of another person, a felony.
Local media have reported that the man had been taken into custody on several occasions. He was charged as recently as last week with, among other things, assaulting a public servant.
