According to the indictment, the man allegedly stabbed the woman in the throat with a knife, the Prosecution Authority writes.
The woman, who was at the perpetrator's home when the crime occurred, was found seriously injured and died that evening. The man was arrested at the scene.
In connection with the crime scene investigation, amphetamine was also found, and the man is also charged with drug offences. According to the indictment, he is also alleged to have carried knives, razor blades and an axe in a public place.
"The crime is considered to be of a particularly dangerous nature because the accused man was under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident," says District Attorney Anna Lundberg in the press release.
