The man came into a grocery store in a small town outside Uppsala in May with bloody clothes.
He goes into the Coop store and asks them to call the police because he has murdered his friend, prosecutor Thomas Bälter tells the newspaper.
According to the indictment, the victim was inflicted with a large number of blows with an axe and then cut with a knife.
The crime was committed while heavily intoxicated. The man admits to particularly serious assault and causing death, but not murder.
