The man is suspected of aggravated assault after allegedly hitting the election worker from the Social Democrats’ Youth Union, SSU, several times and kicking him while he was lying on the ground, according to the indictment.
He is also said to have bitten a police officer on the arm during his arrest.
The prosecutor has previously stated that the assault was not politically motivated, the newspaper reports.
The accused man has previously been charged with aggravated unlawful threats.
