A 55-year-old man is being prosecuted after stealing two pens from a police station in Småland in March, reports Smålandsposten.

It was after the man had left the police station that the staff discovered that two pens with holders were missing.

A surveillance camera had caught the theft – and a few days later, the police conducted a search of the man's residence. The stolen goods were found on the living room table.

The man has admitted to the theft, but claims that he intended to return the pens.

The value of the pens amounts to 148 kronor, according to the prosecutor, who is seeking a sentence of 30 days' fines, which in his case would amount to 11,400 kronor.
