The man submitted his computer for service to a store in Falkenberg in 2023. When the staff, among other things, discovered folders referring to abuse material, the police were contacted.
The retail chain's communications manager tells Hallands Nyheter that employees have a duty to report if they come across illegal material and that the police should always be contacted.
The man, who denies the crime, is alleged to have had over 1,000 images and 17 films showing abuse against children. More than 500 of the images and all the films are considered particularly ruthless.
The man says in the interrogation that the files were downloaded when he was online and that he tried to stop the downloads.
