A man tried to drive through the gates of the Russian embassy on Kungsholmen in Stockholm during Tuesday morning.
We have arrested him for attempted gross unlawful trespassing, says the police's press spokesperson Daniel Wikdahl.
The man, who is in his 45s, was arrested while still sitting in the car.
The police were alerted to the scene by the embassy's guard. There is still no information about the man's motives or nationality.
The Russian Foreign Ministry claims in a statement on Telegram that the man is a Ukrainian citizen residing in Sweden.
The police decline to comment further on the matter.
