Police were called to an apartment in the city on Sunday night after a woman was injured in the head by a man at the address.
It appears to have been caused by some type of firearm, police spokesman Jakob Palmgren says.
The woman was able to speak after the incident, and Palmgren says the shot likely did not hit any vital parts. She has been taken to hospital and is in stable condition.
The suspected perpetrator had left the apartment when police arrived, but was arrested by a patrol shortly afterwards. Why the man had access to a firearm is unclear. There are currently no suspicions of gang connections or similar.
"We are working on the basis that it is an isolated incident, that they have some type of relationship and that they were at one of their homes. There was then an argument where he took this weapon," Palmgren says.
