The man was arrested in his absence in March this year and has since been internationally wanted. On Friday, he was arrested by the police in Austria.
The murder took place in September 2012, when a 26-year-old man was shot dead at a tram stop in Västra Frölunda.
The arrested man has, according to the police, a "prominent position" in the criminal environment. In addition to murder, he is also suspected of attempted murder of others who risked being hit by the shots.
