The investigation says the sex trafficking has been going on since 2022 and involved both in-person encounters and online contact. The investigation has been ongoing for a long time and has grown with the help of material from phones, according to P4 Västernorrland. It was the woman herself who reported the incidents to the police.
"I believe the pimping was carried out on a larger scale and that it involved ruthless exploitation of the plaintiff," says prosecutor Ida Annerstedt.
Annerstedt does not want to go into how the woman was forced to sell sex. Among the 120 men, several are suspected of having bought sex on multiple occasions.
According to the prosecutor, the man, who is in his 60s, has "unfairly financially exploited" the woman's receipt of compensation for sexual acts.
Sex buyers are also likely to be prosecuted, according to Annerstedt. A large number of the suspected men have been identified in Västernorrland and elsewhere in Sweden.
