The woman, who was in her 50s, was found dead in a home in Värmdö municipality on Tuesday.
Helicopters and naval police took part in the operation, and the case has been investigated as murder this week.
"The circumstances surrounding the death at the scene mean that we are starting to suspect murder," said police spokesperson Mats Eriksson on Tuesday.
