A man in his 40s was arrested Sunday night in Nässjö on suspicion of attempting to murder a woman in an apartment. He is also suspected of attempted rape and unlawful detention.
The police were called to the apartment at 1:30 a.m. after a neighbor heard screaming and crying.
The woman has not been seriously injured, according to the police, and the neighbor's alarm may have been crucial, according to Sveriges Radio.
It is not known how the suspect has responded to the allegations. It is also not clear whether the two people know each other.
