The couple came to Sweden in July this year, and when the murdered woman's relatives could not find her, they reported her missing.
Swedish police found her body on August 7 in Kalmar County. An investigation into murder and grave trespass was launched, and the woman's partner was arrested in absentia and became internationally wanted.
The man has now been arrested on suspicion of murder, German police say, according to TV4 Nyheterna. He is expected to be extradited to Sweden. The murder is said to have taken place sometime between July 7 and August 7.
