All nine objects that are part of the investigation have proven to be harmless. The man, who according to the police is between 30 and 40 years old and resides in the area, is now suspected of nine cases of gross false alarm.
"Among other things, we have gone through large amounts of surveillance footage from stores that have sold the thermoses in question. That's how we were able to identify the man," says Johan Sjöstrand, acting local police chief in Greater Gothenburg northeast, in a press release.
In the man's residence, explosive goods were also discovered, which means that he is also suspected of preparation for general endangerment and violation of the law on fire hazardous and explosive goods.
