Man arrested for driving into police officer

A man in his 60s has been arrested on suspicion of having driven into a police officer in Munkebäck in Gothenburg on Saturday, reports SVT News West.

The man is suspected of gross violence against an official and gross negligence in traffic and was arrested on Sunday evening. The car has also been seized.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning. The police were conducting a sobriety check and the theory is that the man tried to escape. The driver was also close to hitting a man and his eight-year-old daughter. The police officer was not seriously injured in the incident.
