A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated arson after a fire in an apartment building in Strömsund on Tuesday, reports P4 Jämtland.
The man denies the crime, but admits to being in the house when it started burning and having a part in starting the fire – which he claims was an accident.
The rescue service was alerted to the apartment building around half past eight on Tuesday evening. By then, the fire had started in an apartment – but then spread to the apartment above and subsequently to the roof.
The house was completely destroyed, but none of the residents are reported to have been seriously injured in the fire.
