The police were alerted to the incident at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday evening. A man and a woman were taken to hospital. According to Sahlgrenska University Hospital, their condition was serious but stable on Monday.
A man was arrested on Sunday evening and has been detained on probable cause on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder and one count of child endangerment.
"The arrested person and the two victims have a relationship with each other, but exactly what it looks like is not something I will go into at this time," says prosecutor Simon Egelrud in a press release.
The police are conducting interviews and technical investigations to try to clarify what happened.
