It was at an initial court hearing, a so-called constitutional hearing, that the 48-year-old admitted the circumstances that led to the police intervention in Nørresundby on the northern outskirts of Aalborg last Friday.
The man had, for unclear reasons, killed a 62-year-old man who was at the same address in an industrial area. A fire then broke out, which the police responded to, and then the 48-year-old opened fire on them as well.
The police only discovered the dead 62-year-old after the younger man had been arrested.
A police officer and the perpetrator were shot.
