The ship Conscience from the Freedom Flotilla Coalition was on its way to Gaza with humanitarian aid. According to the activists, the ship was attacked by drones off the coast of Malta on Friday.

If possible, repairs can be made at sea, otherwise Malta is offering to tow the ship to a Maltese harbor and cover the costs, announces Prime Minister Robert Abela.

During a press conference, a group of activists stated that they have agreed to an inspection.

Only if they can guarantee that Conscience will not be stopped from continuing its humanitarian mission to bring aid to Gaza, says activist Thiago Avila.

Greta Thunberg is one of the activists in the group, who is currently in Malta and had planned to join the activists on the ship.

The fact that Conscience lacks a flag is due to the government of Palau in the Pacific Ocean having deregistered the ship, according to the activists.

A fire broke out in connection with the attack, but no one on board was seriously injured. The activists point to Israel as being behind the attack. The Israeli military has not commented on the incident.
