2–2 after 90 minutes plus extra time meant extension between Malmö and Göteborg.
Then substitute Oliver Berg stepped forward and decided the match in MFF's favor in the 112th minute.
The joy among the sky blues was palpable, and several of the home team's substitutes ran straight across the pitch to celebrate with Berg and the other teammates.
Malmö could then play out the extension quarter and secure a final spot.
Equalized late
Malmö looked for a long time like they would easily reach their second consecutive cup final. This after going into halftime with 2–0, following two goals by Isaac Kiese Thelin.
But with 20 minutes left of the semifinal, Blåvitt's Max Fenger reduced the score with a header. A quarter later, it was equalized when Kholbeinn Thórdarson's turn came to be there with his forehead.
In the cup final, Malmö will face Häcken, who earlier on Sunday won their semifinal against IFK Norrköping.
