The Left Party is demanding that Malmö politician Showan Shattak resign from the city council after he expressed support for an action outside the homes of two ministers. But he says he will not step down, he tells P4 Malmöhus.

A man has been arrested for making illegal threats after an action carried out by the activist group Rojava Committees. A basket of apples painted with images of Hitler was left at the home of one minister, and a bloody doll was left at the home of another.

In an SVT interview, Shattak called the action “very ingenious.” Left Party secretary Maria Forsberg, however, has called such actions “completely unacceptable.”

Shattak holds a V seat on the city council but has not paid the party membership fee. According to Forsberg, he would not be welcome if he applied for membership.
