When MFF visited IFK Norrköping in the pursuit of a European spot, the assistant coaches Peter Wettergren and Fred Jähnke were missing.
The team captain Anders "AC" Christiansen is rehabilitating an injury and took a place on the bench together with the assistant sports manager Ola Toivonen.
Jähnke is getting married, while Wettergren was missing due to personal reasons and is on vacation, according to HBO Max.
The change on the bench did not prevent the Scania team from getting a good start.
MFF took command and broke the zero in the 34th match minute. Emmanuel Ekong took advantage of a deep pass and safely placed 1–0 – his fourth goal for the season. A goal that also became the only one in the half-time.
In the second half, MFF controlled the events and could put an end to the event with ten minutes left to play. Hugo Bolin deflected a long shot with the side of his foot, the midfielder's fourth goal for the season.
The victory means that Malmö FF climbs up to a third place in the Allsvenskan table, however with one more match played than the chasing Gais and AIK.
