It is clear that it is fun. But we do not look so much at the table. It is so incredibly important that you take one step at a time, says MFF's Mia Persson in Viaplay's broadcast.
It only took ten minutes before MFF could rejoice. Sara Kanutte Fornes reached the highest on a post from Courtney Nevin and headed in 1–0.
But the joy was short-lived. Växjö responded quickly when Sanna Kullberg was torn down in the penalty area and the referee pointed to the penalty spot. Larkin Russel was safety itself and set 1–1.
Just before the break, Kanutte Fornes stepped forward again. The striker kept himself forward and made sure MFF went to halftime with 2–1.
After the break, there were fewer scoring opportunities, but Malmö still extended the lead. Tuva Skoog played forward Mia Persson who placed in 3–1, which also became the final result.
Persson seemed to fire up the audience properly in the second half.
I felt, sorry, excuse the language, that I was completely damn finished. I needed some energy from the audience, so I fired up a bit, she says.
The victory means that MFF climbs up to the top with 38 points with ten rounds left. Next Saturday, they will visit second-placed Hammarby, who stands at 36 points.
