"As you can probably imagine, there are thousands of thoughts in my head, and I have shed countless tears," the 35-year-old writes on Instagram.
It was at the end of Malmö's 1-0 away win against Djurgården that Jansson injured a knee and was carried off on a stretcher. The former national team defender is now awaiting surgery, Malmö FF said.
"So look at the pictures of my pain; understand that this is the absolute heaviest moment of my life, but I promise I will be back," Jansson writes.
Jansson returned to Malmö FF in the summer of 2023 after playing for Brentford and Leeds, among others. In total, he has made 27 senior appearances for Sweden.
