Malmö FBC cannot afford to remain in the SSL floorball league, Expressen was first to report.
"It's incredibly difficult to have to make this decision, because it doesn't rest on any sporting grounds at all," says club chairman Anders Mattsson to Sydsvenskan.
"It is our deteriorating economy over time that forces us to realize the serious situation when you have declining liquidity and the risks that it entails," he continues.
The playing squad received the news at a meeting on Tuesday evening.
The club is home to national team star Ellen Rasmussen. She and her teammates are now without a club for next season.
Recently, Malbas and Högsbo withdrew from the women's basketball league, mainly for financial reasons.
