The City of Malmö carries out regular inspections of municipal swimming areas and, during the most recent inspection, it was determined that there was an algal bloom at all swimming areas.
A black flag was raised at the bathing areas and signs are in place with information, Malmö City writes on its website.
Children and dogs are particularly sensitive to algal blooms. They can move quickly, so it is impossible to say how long a swimming ban will be in effect.
