Since 2023, he has played Gottfrid in the musical version of "Änglagård" at the Oscarsteatern in Stockholm. But in 2025, Tommy Körberg will hand over the role to Claes Malmberg and take the step to "Les Misérables the arena spectacular" which will tour in Sweden.
Körberg has a long history with "Les Misérables". He auditioned for the role of Jean Valjean in the 1980s, but did not get it due to what he himself describes as "my youthfulness". In 1990, he got his revenge as Valjean in the Swedish version.
In 2025, he will play the bishop of Digne opposite, among others, Peter Jöback as Jean Valjean and Bradley Jaden as Javert.
The challenge is to remember the text, because I've reached a respectable age where I forget it. He has a very fine song when he meets Jean Valjean for the first time. So I'll do it as musically good as I can and try to remember the text, says Tommy Körberg in a comment to TT.
The arena production of "Les Misérables" will be shown in 15 performances in Gothenburg, Stockholm, and Malmö with a premiere on January 16.
At the same time, "Änglagård" will continue at the Oscarsteatern in the spring of 2025 as well – but with changes in the cast list. Claes Malmberg – as Gottfrid – will be joined by Lindy Larsson, who returns in the role of Zac. The role of Fanny is still played by Tuva B Larsen and Sanna Nielsen continues in the role of Rut Flogfält.
