Mallbacken has played 14 seasons in the women's top division, most recently in 2016. Right now, they are in eleventh place in the second-highest series elitettan, just above the relegation line.
But even before the season is completed, it may become clear that the Värmland club will start over in lower series. According to a board proposal, which members will take a position on November 8, Mallbacken will leave elitettan and step down one or two divisions.
The revenues are not enough and the economic situation is unsustainable, says chairman Evelina Nilsson to P4 Värmland.
In September, Nilsson said the club needed to get in 1 million kronor before the turn of the year.
