Police have been searching for a missing woman in Salem, southwest of Stockholm, since Friday evening. The woman, who is in her mid-20s, has still not been found.

"The search has continued throughout the day. We have used a number of resources in that work, and of course we will continue to search," said Carina Skagerlind, press spokesperson for the police, on Saturday afternoon.

According to her, the police have received a lot of tips from the public and have followed up on those who have been of interest.

Skagerlind cannot say anything about the course of events except that the disappearance was reported by a relative. Crime cannot be ruled out.

The police have initiated a so-called rescue service, which means that civilian actors may be deployed. The voluntary organization Search and Rescue (SAR) is participating in the search, which has been focused in Rönninge and the surrounding areas.

Several residents in the area have also arrived. Dogs, quad bikes and drones have been used in the search, according to TT's photographer on site.

It's not just the physical aspect. We are working in several different ways, including internally, to move forward and try to find her, says Carina Skagerlind.

The Public Prosecutor's Office confirms that a duty prosecutor is involved, but cannot provide any further comments.
