The man is arrested. Several people were in the apartment, but no one is reported to have been injured.
The police are now investigating gross unlawful threats, assault and vandalism.
The alarm came at 10:30.
Man Arrested After Axe Attack on Uppsala Apartment
A large police operation is underway in the Sala backe district of Uppsala since a man in his 50s smashed an apartment with an axe, according to the police on their website.
