The match over eight two-minute rounds went out of time without either of the boxers being able to land a knockout blow, and all three judges awarded the victory on points to Jake Paul.

I knew he was a good boxer and that he would come prepared, says Mike Tyson after the match.

Many experts believed that Mike Tyson, one of boxing's biggest names, would defeat Jake Paul, who started boxing as an adult and had never faced top-ranked opponents.

Paul dominated

But Mike Tyson, 58, struggled with the pace of the match, and the more than 30-year-younger Paul was able to dominate and land almost four times as many hits on his opponent – 78 against 18, according to the match statistics.

I tried to get to him, but I was afraid he would hit me. I did my best, says Jake Paul.

Towards the end of the match, Tyson had great difficulty defending himself and took a lot of punishment, while the pace slowed down.

I don't need to prove anything to anyone, just to myself. I'm just happy about what I was able to achieve, says Tyson.

The match was supposed to be a major draw for Netflix, which has started investing more in live sports, but thousands of viewers reported connection problems with the streaming service, according to the website Downdetector.

Broadcasts NFL

According to the news agency AP, Netflix has not wanted to comment on the technical problems or what caused them. The streaming giant will later this winter broadcast both American football from the NFL and live wrestling.

The streaming giant broadcast the match live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. At most, nearly 100,000 people reported Netflix problems, just before 5 am on Saturday. An hour later, over 40,000 people reported problems.

With an age difference of 30 years and hundreds of millions of kronor at stake, the match between Mike Tyson, 58, and Jake Paul, 27, was extremely hyped. Jake Paul has been open about the fact that he will earn 40 million dollars, approximately 440 million kronor, from the fight. Several media outlets have reported that Tyson is expected to earn about half that amount.
