The alarm came at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
"We have had a major apartment fire. The initial fire has been extinguished and we are dealing with structural fires," said Anders Helmborn of the Greater Gothenburg Rescue Service on Saturday afternoon.
As of 6 p.m. on Saturday, it is still unclear how the fire started, the police wrote on their website.
No one has been found after the emergency services searched the affected apartment. Both the police and emergency services are still working at the scene.
The incident is classified as arson and there are currently no suspects.
