There is currently no information about any injuries or how the fire started, according to Brattgård.
The alarm was raised at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The area around the fire has been cordoned off and extinguishing work is underway.
"We have had a major apartment fire. The initial fire has been extinguished, and we are working on structural fires and checking to make sure they do not spread through the building," says Anders Helmborn at the Greater Gothenburg Rescue Service.
