Lee, who lives in the Texas city of Dallas, took her third major title in her career and finished at -4. She won ahead of Auston Kim, USA, and Chanettee Wannasaen, Thailand.

Maja Stark finished in a shared 47th place.

The 25-year-old started with par, but it was followed by a bogey on the second hole. Stark then went seven straight holes with par, before getting two bogeys and a double bogey on four holes.

The following holes became four straight pars, before Stark finished with a bogey on hole 18.

On the 16th hole, Stark was seen putting with a wedge instead of a putter.

Later came the explanation in the form of TV images that showed that the Swede had broken her putter when she threw the club at her golf bag in frustration.

A damaged club may not be replaced according to golf's rules, and Stark had to resort to an emergency solution.

She was the only Swede in the final round after the other Swedish women missed the qualifying limit.

Stark won her first major title when she won the US Open three weeks ago.
