Maja Stark far behind in hunt for new title

Last year, Maja Stark won her first major title at the U.S. Open. After three bogeys on Friday, a repeat now looks increasingly unlikely.

After a nightmare start in the first round, her game continued to falter at times during day two at Riviera Country Club in California. On the 10th hole, Stark made her third bogey, a major setback.

Stark finished the round at 72 strokes, one over par. Overall, she is at +1 and tied for 22nd place. Alison Lee and Yin Ruoning, from the United States and China respectively, lead at -4.

Anna Nordqvist finished round two at par. Ingrid Lindblad finished at +2.

Linn Grant, Meja Örtengren, Madelene Sagström and Johanna Sjursen missed the cut.
