Åskag began Sunday's final with a jump of 6.66 metres. She then improved to 6.69 on her second jump, which gave her seventh place.

It was still a bit of revenge after the triple jump. I'm not sad anyway. It's a perfectly okay competition, but it's not something I'm going to hang on the Christmas tree.

The gold went to Italy's Larissa Iapichino. Jazmin Sawyers of Great Britain took silver and bronze went to France's Hilary Kpatcha.

The final was Åskag's second of this year's championships. On Thursday, the Swede finished ninth in the triple jump.

"It's clear that you want to jump to the top, but I didn't give up. I've shown what I can do, I did my best," says Åskag.
