Maja Åskag finished eleventh in the triple jump final. That's what her 13.92 was enough for. I was a bit slow, one can say. They were not bad jumps, but I must have a little more "that" when I jump.

Åskag had hoped for more in the World Championship final in Tokyo.

I am not that satisfied. I had a good feeling beforehand, but then it did not go as well. I want to jump around my best capacity, but did not get it out today, she says to SVT

Åskag reached the World Championship final in both long jump and triple jump. She is wrestling with the question which event she should focus more on or simply choose.

We will see what happens. I am anyway satisfied with my decision to do both here.

Cuban Leyanis Pérez Hernández won the World Championship gold with 14.94. She jumped five centimeters further than silver medalist Thea LaFond, Dominica.
