The actress, film director, and author Mai Zetterling would have turned 100 years old on May 24. This is being observed right now around the film world with various screenings at film festivals, cinematheques, and film institutes.

The Swedish Film Institute is celebrating Mai Zetterling's 100th anniversary together with SF Studios and the Artists' Committee, with a tribute at the Film House on May 12.

Among others, Mai Zetterling's son, Louis Lemkow Zetterling, the actress Stina Ekblad, the director Christina Olofson, and the Mai Zetterling scholarship holder Niki Lindroth von Bahr will participate, telling about Mai Zetterling's significance for film art.

"Mai Zetterling was a pioneer in the true sense of the word and one of our most significant filmmakers. It is inspiring to see how her work, both in front of and behind the camera, continues to be observed and live on in new contexts all over the film world", says the Film Institute's CEO Anna Croneman in a press release.
